First Round KO

Fighter Spot Light: Warren Smith

On August 20th we had one of our warriors go in the cage and come out with a victory. Result: First Round KO 🥊

I want to highlight this gentleman because of his outstanding work ethic inside and outside of the gym. He’s not only a fighter, he’s a caring, considerate, family man, Coach and mentor. When a new student steps onto our mats, he easily gravitates towards them. He wants to share his knowledge. I asked one of our long time students, Tristian Watson, who his favorite training partner was and he said, “Warren by far.” I asked why he named Warren, he said “Because his movements are so fluid, his style is refined and his willingness to work with students at the beginner stage or advanced stage goes to show you arrogance is nowhere to be found.”

We want to congratulate Warren Smith on his WIN 🏆and Thank him for being an important Role Model at Striker Fight Center. He is what we all strive to be.

Also, thanks to all of the coaches and fellow student preparing him for his fight and being there in his corner.

Striker has a new look!

If you are a current member, you may notice that Suite 214 looks a little different! If you haven’t noticed, either you aren’t coming to class on a regular basis or your attention to detail is lacking. Whatever the case, we are excited about this change. Striker Fight Center has been in this facility for almost 13 years! We decided it was time that our members received an upgrade. In addition to putting in 100 Grey Tatami mats, we took down the netting, repositioned the flags, Hung more posters and banners, built more storage units, replaced equipment, organized our entire gym, and cleaned from top to bottom! We are currently adding carpet to the outer boxing ring and putting in minor details here and there. We are still the same gym and have the same amazing people who train with us. We will continue to provide a safe and comfortable atmosphere for our members and coaches.

Ready for class! (with the sound of Elijah demolishing those pads!)

YOUTH TROPHY DAY

Our kids boxing class is a great way for children to learn discipline, structure, technique and self-defense. It shapes the minds of our youth today so they can make the transition from a child to an adult. We incorporate fitness and socialization at a young age so they can begin to build confidence.

At the beginning of each month we award the “Most Improved Boxer,’ for the month prior. Our coach, Jr Ulloa, monitors each students progress to determine who will win a trophy and have their name added to a nameplate on the BIG trophy displayed in the front room. We also give a medal to the runner up. These decisions aren’t made lightly. Coach really deliberates on who he feels are the true winners.

So far, we are over half way through the year, and although COVID-19 was a little set back for our students and coaches, We are back on the mats giving it everything we have!

Today the new winners for July is Jacob Warren and Clara Moscovitz!

Clara is our Runner Up and Jacob is our “Most Improved Boxer” for July 2020.
Congratulations to them both for a job well done!

We put in a Boxing Ring!

Attention members, after long consideration, Striker has decided to put in a boxing ring. We feel as though our members will truly understand boundaries, improve angles, and can spar in a realistic environment. For those seeking amateur or a pro career, this is the place to train. Our Professional coaches welcome members new to boxing, those who do it for fitness, for a hobby or taking their current skills to the next level. We feel we ARE the next level.
