Professor Juan V. Guevara, a former professional Mixed Martial Arts fighter and combat sports veteran, has been training Gracie Jiu-Jitsu for over 17 years. He is a 2nd Degree Black Belt, awarded through Eddie Camden, from world renowned Master Pedro Sauer. Master Sauer (8th Degree Red/Black Belt) is considered one of the top Gracie Jiu-Jitsu instructors in the world.
In his accomplished career, Prof. Guevara has trained with some of the art’s most revered instructors, including Grandmaster Helio Gracie (co-creator of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu). 1st UFC Champion and Hall of Famer, 6th Degree Black Belt legendary Royce Gracie. One of the most decorated grapplers in the world, three time Abu Dhabi Champion, 7th Degree Red/Black Belt Royler Gracie. 22 time Brazilian champion, 9th Degree Red Belt Relson Gracie. Founder of the UFC , 9th Degree Red Belt Rorion Gracie.
Prof. Guevara is considered one of the top Gracie Jiu-Jitsu instructors in the state of Georgia. He teaches many grapplers and MMA fighters, law enforcement and military personnel, Army Rangers, Navy SEALs, Secret Service officers, and numerous security professionals. Some of his teachings have taken him overseas to share his expertise.
Professor Juan is also the head referee for the Kakuto Submission Challenge, where some of the best submission artists in the Southeast compete. Most recently Professor Juan founded Juanaconda BJJ, yet another accomplishment which allows him to be able to continue spreading the “gentle” art which he loves and continues to be passionate about. In 2014 Professor Juan was selected as Regional Director of the Rigan Machado Association helping unite affiliated schools in the southeast with open workouts, unique seminar opportunities, and competition training.
